Overview
About Me
I am Alex from Singapore. I've recently finished a 2 year mandatory national service in the Singapore Armed Forces and I am waiting for my university academic to start some time in August 2018. Right now, I’m working as a marketing executive focused on events to gain a little bit of experience before I head to Uni and then work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To me, traveling is more than going around taking pictures and visiting the main attractions of a country. Instead, meaningful traveling to me is being genuinely inspired by the different people I meet along the way, stepping out of your comfort zone when it comes to trying new things out and just really connecting with people . Hence, couchsurfing really appeals to me.
Interests
I love all sorts of house music, but mainly progressive and electro. The new future bass sounds are also pretty pretty good. I've also tried out DJ-ing recently and I'm really hoping that I can do something with this passion of mine. Music festivals are just simply awesome to attend. I've been to Djakarta Warehouse Project, Zoukout Singapore, Ultra Singapore and I’m headed to the S20 festival in Bangkok in April!
I used to play basketball a fair bit but I've stopped due to my time constraints during national service. Although, I don't play anymore, I still love the game and I watch the NBA. Go Lakers!!

What I Can Share with Hosts
How countries in the South East Asia is really like
I've been extremely lucky to be born in a region filled with diversity. What is the norm in one country might be peculiar in the other. I am a Singaporean who was born in Malaysia and I grew up in Singapore. I've did my fair share of travels within this region as well, with my school, my family and of course the Singapore Army too. With that, I can share with the host different South East Asian knowledge based on my understanding and my point of view.
