About Me
--- Currently based in Buenos Aires for my field research ---
I'm a curious world traveller. I spent some time in Kenya where I worked and met many friends thanks to the Italian NGO Karibu Afrika.
I'd like to see a lot more of Asia and Latina America where I have only been once respectively.
I moved to Leicester, UK for research in October 2015, and even though I like to attend conferences all around the country (and abroad), they're also a great excuse to travel and see Great Britain (and more)!
I love to cook (not only Italian dishes, hopefully) and to watch trains go by.
I am from Torino but don't ask me if I am a supporter of that other team. I support Torino, maybe you don't know what that means, but I wish my grandma was here to explain it to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Radiohead used to say "meeting people is easy". Well, it should be, but it's even better if you are willing to! And, together with my girlfriend Chiara, we really believe that people makes places what places really are, thus there's no point in visiting some equatorial city or a lonely beautiful mountain top without meeting whoever is living, knowing and transforming these places, somebody that wants to share stories, food or even just a couple of hours. That's always worthy.
We would also love to host, but at this very moment we live in a shared house without a decent couch, so ... whenever we'll move, we'll make sure there is a couch for you.
Interests
Talking about the blues, as Jon Spencer said, where the "blues" stands for politics, history, economics, geography, sciences, funny stories, less funny stories, movies, tv series, and music. A lot about music. Have I mentioned music?
I am getting a little bit nerdy about table and card games (a little bit, I'm definitely not a pro, I just enjoy playing and learning new ones), and here with us in UK we brought the game "Bang!", so remind me to carry it when you host me, in case you want to play.
Back in Italy, some years ago, I used to play bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitars and even a little bit of drums with some very good friends of mine (they still do, and they're good https://newadventuresinlofi.bandcamp.com/). I really do love to play, so careful if you have an acoustic guitar hidden somewhere. Just don't ask me things like reading music scores or doing an F#madd9. I have no idea about neither of those things, I grew up with punk philosophy (3 chords = enough) and that's what I like.
Lastly, but most importantly, I love to listen to stories of local initiatives, small grassroots organizations, community building, horizontal experiences of direct democracy, participation to Occupy, M-15, Gezi Park ... anything that means you know - or you lived in person - and you can share alternative ways to live in your community, neighbourhood, city or universe.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm willing to learn Modern Greek for my research purposes, if you know it and you're either willing to exchange it for Italian, or you can accept a meal for every lesson, I'm in.
I'm also looking for grassroots organizations active in Leicester and Leicestershire on things such as socialism, anti-austerity and neighbourhood assemblies. If you know any or you are part of any, please let me know!
And ... well, I'd love to know better NBA history and present, but I'm very very ignorant about it, so please teach me if you can!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A coffee, some time to share stories, a tour of the city with friends or a beer somewhere nice. Hopefully a couch, hopefully soon.
