CURRENT MISSION
no bad days
ABOUT ME
I have recently finished my degree in Design for technology and rather than getting locked into a career am taking time out to indulge my passion for mountain biking and open my eyes to the rest of the world.
i am a very outdoorsy person with a passion for conserving the wilderness that is such an important (i would say the most important) part of our planet.
i'm a very positive person, everyday is a good day. we are only here for a short time so there's no point wasting it on bad days.
PHILOSOPHY
if you don't live for something you will die for nothing
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i hosted a few people while living in Invermere, BC on a working holiday. After my visa expired i traveled the USA for 3 months couch surfing most the way and meeting some awesome people that really made my trip. i can't imaging having done the trip any other way! in short all my couch surfing experinces have been awesome and for me it is the only way to travel.
Interests
I'm a bit of an adrenaline/endorphine junky so enjoy sports that combine a good workout with a bit of a rush. I am most passionate about Mountain biking, Rock Climbing and Skiing. i have recently spent a year living in British Columbia indulging these passions and am currently in Northern Japan for some deep pow action! basically i'm happiest when out experiencing the outdoors. we live in a beautiful world and should be out there enjoying it rather than destroying it.
i am also a passionate musician. i play clarinet, tenor saxophone and guitar. i've played in orchestra's since i was young and have more recently dabbled in jazz. i get the biggest buzz out of performing!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have diverse taste in music and particularly enjoy music that is a bit different, edgy and outside the mainstream. i listen to jazz, classical, rock - mellow through to metal. Some favorites: Pink Floyd, Brand New, Evermore, Shihad, Acoustic Ladyland, Polar Bear, Stan Getz, From Autumn to Ashes, Band of Horses, The Beatles, Boysetsfire, Kinski, Pearl Jam, Fleet Foxes, The Fullblast, Manchester Orchestra, Muse, Rise Against, Propagandhi, Two Tounges, The Tallest Man on Earth, Weather Report to name but a few.
I'm into all sorts of books, a few favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Robert Ludlum, Frederick Forsyth, Leon Uris... If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor and Trinity by Leon Uris would be the most memorable books i have read recently
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Any day i find myself in the middle of nowhere under my own steam, with a group of mates, just soaking up the surroundings makes the list. if this is followed by a warp speed descent of some form then all the better!
Most recently skinning up and skiing in the crater of Yotei-san, Hokkaido, Japan rates up there. Stunning!
Teach, Learn, Share
i am an experienced mountain biker and get a real buzz out of seeing newbies enjoying the sport. there is nothing quite like introducing people to your favorite tracks in your backyard. i'm always keen to take people out and show them the ropes, as others did for me when i was starting out. and that also goes for my other passions of skiing and rock climbing!
