About Me

CURRENT MISSION

What gets us into trouble is not what we don't know / It's what we know for sure, that just ain't so (Mark Twain)

ABOUT ME

After almost 15 years of having the same job, living in the same house, amongst the same people and with the same girlfriend, I felt it was about time to do something else. Something more distinct than just getting beaten at beginners karate lessons, getting your nose to blead and then hoping that all frustrations will be gone. Anyway. I feel like getting everything off my road exept for my girlfriend. And that's exactly what we did. We took a sabbatical starting from july 2007. We booked a RTW ticket packed our stuff and went away for 1 year.

PHILOSOPHY

What gets us into trouble
is not what we don't know

It's what we know for sure
that just ain't so

Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As you can imagine we met loads of people during our trip. Instead of staying in anonymous hotels - that we can't afford anyhow - we wanted to be part in peoples' lives in all the countries we want to visit. It's slow travel that we were after. Helping people in their daily life, it seems like quite a challenge. We love different languages - that's why we started with an intensive spanish course in Ecuador. And we participated in a volunteer (ngo) project in Peru and Cambodja.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We only had two couchsurfing experience, but hell it was the best thing ever happened to us. Thank you Horatio in Salta, Argentina!
