About Me
CURRENT MISSION
A devastating amount of Cultural Exchange
ABOUT ME
I try to retain the illusion that most people percieve me as a nice person to be around. I really like being in an international environment as makes me feel like having wind under my wings, and genuinly happy.
In general I am intrested in most aspects of life. I appreciate arts and culture, especially good music but also a nice night out. Faith and involvement as somewhat of a Tolstoyan, mainly in the direction of egalitarian values and human rights, hold a big place in my life.
Apart from that, at this point I feel committed towards exchange and giving and recieving what people offer and/or appreciate.
A lot of people in couch-surfing go beyond what is expected in the general agreement. This requires me to make a small disclaimer: I'm a bit difficult in the gastronomical area since I have celiaky (I cant eat gluten, that is found in wheat, rye and barley and I am also a vegetarian (no meat, fish or poultry). I enjoy cooking however and can usually stir up an edible meal.
PHILOSOPHY
I think life is about trying to figure a lot of things out, and I believe exchange being part of the clue to that and therefore I also believe in the principle of respecting other peoples faiths or attitudes to life in the hope of them respecting mine.
As of general I hold the faith of a Tolstoyan, that is the importance of following ones conscience as well as the guidance of the Gospel in ones own life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By surfing, hosting is not possible for at this point, or technically that is not true, but where I live (the ICA in Brussels) overnight guests are provided to pay 14 euros a night. I hate it, since it's non-sensical, but sadly that is the way it is with my current accomodation. I hope to be able to provide a couch or bed to sleep in again this autumn (2012) but let me get back to you about that.
I do realize that I am a bit crazy, but then again deep down I think most people are, and that there lies some beauty in that aswell.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been in couchsurfing for a few years now and thus far it has been a very nice experiance. When I had the possibility I have hosted a few people at my place, both trough CS and spontaneously and I have also been hosted by a few people. Generally I like sharing a meal with people I host but since I have a lot of special requirements with food I would not expect the same in return.
Interests
Culture, literature, arts, photo, music, movies, religion, politics, hanging out, drinking tea and sharing a meal. I even enjoy performing sports, as long as I am not expected to watch them or excell at them.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like good books in general, but not Swedish crime-novels. Among my favourite writers are Karin Boye, Salman Rushdie and George Orwell. Proust was to difficult for me, but Kafka I still found readable, then again I also really enjoyed the Harry Potter books.
When it comes to music I am even more of a generalist, although I do not really appreciate the automaton creations normally played in mainstreem radio stations, not that contemporary and/or pop-music do not hold some good points. What I really enjoy is Jazz (Lady Grey) oldschool punk (the Clash) as well as Balkan/Yiddish, Irish and Swedish traditional music and their modern derivatives (Golem) which competes with SKA about being the best music for dancing.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can probably tell about photography, that I once studied to be a proffessional, maybee vegetarian cooking. I especially enjoy hearing or sharing a good story.
