About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Rewild, rewild, rewild...
ABOUT ME
I have an itchy mind and itchy feet...
When I'm travelling, I love to explore nature - to climb mountains, swim in lakes and run the dusty roads. I also love to learn about the history of the places I visit - not just the history of the textbooks, but the history of the people.
When I'm home, I love to grow organic veg, work with animals, ride bikes, cook vegan food, plant trees, make bonfires, find things, protect wildlife, read, swim, listen to good music, hang out with my friends and explore.
I have distinctively scarred fingertips, which surely has some bearing on my identity though I don't know what.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what you can with what you've got.
Don't look at the map before, to see where you're going... Look after, to see where you've been.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Anything i can lay my hands on. Books about animals, nature and the world! Jeffery Masson for animals, Terry Pratchett for escapism, Salman Rushdie for story telling, Phillip Pullman for fantasy, Gustav Meyrink for obscurity, Joe Sacco for politics, Khalil Gibran for inspiration...
Music: Everything from folk to dub to reggae to punk. Propagandhi, AFI, Spanner, PAIN, Nucleus Roots, Bouncing Souls, Danny Schmidt, Roddy Woomble, Heidi Talbot, Alexi Murdoch, Kris Drever, Martha Tilston.
Films: Anything dark, comic or strange. The fabulous work of Pasolini. Water, Amelie, The Killing Fields, Hard Candy, Leon... Also Pan's Labyrinth. And Monty Python.
One of my favourite things about travelling is finding and exchanging good music, books and films :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Digging ourselves and a Jeep out of a mountain landslide on a freezing, torrentially rainy night in Tibet with some Bavarian travel companions. Life-defying, mental and fantastic.
Also breaking my fingers on a ropeswing in Nepal during a golden CS adventure was fun.
Camping in a wild wood in Wales and admiring the environmental anarchism all around us.
Teach, Learn, Share
A smile goes a long way in this world.
And iodine tablets... always good to have.
I'd love to learn vegan knitting, if it exists.
As for sharing, that's what it's all about!
