About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On a quest for good times and good vibes!

ABOUT ME

I wrote this once and I love looking for it when I travel. It always makes my day.
I remember people greeting each other. At train stations, at airports, at bus stations, at malls…Everywhere I go, those are the happy things that make my day. A twirling hug, a deep kiss, a slap on the back. And all the unhappy people in the world, for that moment are the happiest.

PHILOSOPHY

Try not to close your mind to anything, experience everything within a semblance of reason, go everywhere you can possibly go and find a beautiful moment every day. In life, don't allow shallowness of thought or action to take the higher ground over your inner search for truth. The world is always going to be much more than you can know but why should that stop you from knowing much more and therefore living life in the world that much more deeply? I do not frown on either book knowledge or life experience knowledge. I'm on a journey to accumulate as much as one person can humanly achieve in both of them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, Surfing, telling people what to do and where to go and whom to meet! CS groups, Meetings, Events and whatever else makes life more interesting. I'm much lower energy on meetings and events but I'm glad there is such a great group of couchsurfers in the city that make such formalities irrelevant.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a had an incredible set of couchsurfing experiences! Sometimes meeting couchsurfers randomly on the island I used to live on, hanging out with meetings in Bangalore where I now live. Surfing couches in India and a few caribbean islands, its a wonderful journey. The conversations, the people, the experiences, the combination of these inspires me to see every corner of the world, to judge less and to feel more. My couchsurfers and my hosts keep my faith in 'one love' and the beauty of an unreserved giving human nature. Having been on couchsurfing for many years, I have had several incredible years of surfing around the world. Lately I involve myself less with the couchsurfing community in my area. I've had negative experiences that I prefer not to dwell on but that people should know are out there. There are hosts that will charge you for a place that is not theirs. There are surfers who will consume and abuse a house without thanks or respect. These are small but scary minorities that threaten couchsurfing. Always write a reference from your heart, as I try, even if the person has to hear something that will be painful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen 42 countries and a lifetime of exploitation and inequality. I've met hundreds of thousands, some at the top, living the construct of a high life; others at the bottom, marveling at a junk digital watch on my wrist. I've seen millions of years of rain-forest growth disappear in months of negotiation for Del Monte fruit plantations. Amazing isn't it?
