Overview
About Me
I am currently living in Edinburgh, studying mechanical engineering. Although originally from the north of England.
In my free time I like to watch films, go for walks, draw, read and play the bass (poorly). I can turn my attention to pretty much any sport. Specifically although far from limited to rugby, cricket and football (I have a season ticket at Burnley FC). I'm also teaching myself German, something I am regretting not paying more attention to in school.
I am fascinated by the history and culture of the world. Please tell me if I ask too many questions as whenever I find myself somewhere new I can't wait to discover and explore.
I am very easy going and just as happy occupying myself as I am getting stuck in to a group.
Most importantly though, I love to travel and hope this will lead to many great memories and friendships.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
All the old cliches. To meet new people and see the world beyond usual tourist traps. I know from friends this is a great way to engage with people and places, so I am eager to make the most of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a shameless cinephile. A few favourites that come to mind; Pan's Labyrinth, In the mood for love, Come and see, Lost in translation, Withnail and I, Barry Lyndon and Blue is the warmest colour.
Similarly with music I will listen to anything. Country to Electronic. A few standouts would have to be Radiohead and Joy Division/New Order (they're two sides of the same coin really).
If I'm being honest I haven't read anywhere near as much recently as I would have liked, so any recommendations are welcome!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I toured the east coast of Australia playing rugby. Throughout the trip I stayed with families and was made to feel so at home. I met so many great people and had some amazing experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a keen listener and more than happy to learn and share any skills or stories.
As I said above, I'm trying to learn German and any tips on playing bass would be gratefully appreciated.
I'm sad to say I'm not much of an expert at anything but I do have a relatively broad knowledge of useless information so I can be useful in pub quizzes!
Oh, and my unwavering support for the universal struggle of the proletariat.
I will also do all my own cooking, cleaning and washing.
