Movies: hard to feel comprehensive here..anything by Linklater, Tarantino, Soderbergh, Fincher, Chris Nolan can be great. Have pretty big gaps though!

Books: spent too long reading those Robert Caro LBJ biographies...besides that I read the New Yorker religiously and worship at David Remnick's small but capable feet.

Helped to slaughter a cow and make soup from its lower intestines (tasted like shit).
