ABOUT ME
Easily intrigued by too many things. Tendency to tell really geeky jokes. Likes giving books as presents. Up for most anything. Stubborn.
Not on Facebook, but am trying out Instagram (gulp), for what that's worth, mainly as a concession to this digital age and a way to share my film work .
Also, as it seems the modern equivalent of apartment bookshelves for getting a sense of a person's tastes: http://wunderkammer-der-willa.tumblr.com/
PHILOSOPHY
95% of the time, everything works out for the best. It really does!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Like most people, I guess. Hosting and surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed on a solo bacpacking trip through Europe when I was 17/18, and again in Chile a couple winters past, most recently through Slovakia, Hungary, Scotland and Romania. Met some really fascinating and wonderful people while doing so. I host here in Seattle whenever schoolwork is not too much, my roommates are amicable, and I'm not on the road myself.
Interests
I'm a swimmer by sport and love watching soccer. I'm an avid reader and generally steer clear of most social networking things- CouchSurfing excluded. I'm more a fan of handwritten letters and snail mail.
Last and final year at the University of Washington, majoring in European Studies and German and minoring in English and Architecture. I love to read and cook and generally explore. Just found out about a darkroom at my Uni so I'm making full use of that.
I've knack for picking up languages, a good memory for history and culture, a strong desire to meet new folks and a independent streak, all of which fuel my bad case of wanderlust.
Typography, Music- predominantly British 60s and 80s, Classical, current foreign music. I'm not very into contemporary American, but I'm willing to listen to just about anythin, if just to try it out. I DJ'ed for the local college radio station while in highschool. Keen on poster design, aesthetics of cultural differences , old maps, analog photography (35mm and 120)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think this is a loaded question, to be honest.
Teach, Learn, Share
I make excellent guacamole, and can share my kettle for tea! Viola, if anyone is interested. Film photography, the ins and outs of Seattle and Berlin. Always looking to learn more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
General good cheer, an atypical American perspective (for what that's worth) Architecture history is a strong point, but that's understandably a 'host' thang.
I can make prints, too, if anything good comes out of my black and white rolls, and like to mail those back to people. I do tend to stay in contact with those I've met through CS, ( though the site demographic does seem to be changing rather a lot) and some of my best friendships have come out of it.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
