About Me
ABOUT ME
Active, open-minded. Friendly and easy to go along with hopefully. Graduated chemistry, wasn't for me and did all kinds of odd jobs. Then I found my passion in carpentry.
Interested in travel and culture beyond the tourism zone. I believe traveling and meeting different people/cultures is one of the best investments in your life.
My dream would be to be totally independent and travel the whole world.
In the meantime I will surf and accept surfers to broaden my horizon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe you don't need the expensive hassle of hotels and accommodations to travel. Besides it's a lot more fun to meet locals and really get to know the country and local customs. Traveler and host could (and should) enrich each other and have a great time.
Staying at, or hosting a traveler puts a whole dimension to traveling, and I fully support the 'couchsurfing' movement.
Interests
Travel is one of my biggest interest which is awfully underrepresented in my life.
I'm saving up for a van which I will convert into a camper and roam the planet with.
I also enjoy physical activities such as hiking, kickboxing (muay thai), kitesurfing, bushcraft and woodworking. But I am open to learn or experience any sport!
My hobbies include photography/videography, woodworking/DIY, chemistry, cooking and I am frequently found behind my computer either editing video or playing games.

Music, Movies, and Books
Since I discovered the Ebooks (on my mobile) I started to read a lot more. I finished the hungergames trilogy, arkady renko series, many books by John Grisham, the Games of Thrones books, Stephen King and many books great films were based on.
I enjoy Tarantino movies, and any movie with a strong plot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hard to recall something 'amazing'. I could list some of my accomplishments but it would feel like exaggerating/bragging.
I guess the closest thing to amazing would be that I experienced the freedom you get when doing the alternative thing. IE instead of waiting for a train abroad, ask a local for a ride. Or getting to know the family working in a restaurant and getting invited to their home for a meal.
Travel is so much more interesting when you 'escape' the tourist zone
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I can teach would include various bits and knowledge about the Netherlands and Dutch cuisine and of course the Dutch language. A lot about chemistry, carpentry and DIY
I also can explain a fair bit about bushcraft, cheap living (in the Netherlands), autorepairs and 'acting like you belong'
Things I would love to learn about are different cultures, languages, places to visit, sharing a good story over a drink
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, lots of stories (and hearing them!)
You'd be welcome to use/borrow anything I have with me at the moment.
I'd also bring groceries and beer, either for myself or (on your instructions) a variety of ingredients for you to share your cooking with me.
I'd also be glad to help in any way, be it physical tasks like yard work, picking something up or household choirs.
