Hello there! I am Willemijn, 22 years old. I live together with an awesome boyfriend and we both love to explore the world, try weird things and meet new people :) I love to be outdoors and people would describe me as a crazy, enthousiast and curious.

January last year, I quit my study to dedicate my life to adventure. I used to be working as an outdoor instructor and as a cashier to try and save as much money as possible. And in December, we left our work and home, now we are working and travelling in New Zealand! :D

Currently based in Auckland. Because we are working and do not have our own permanent housing, not able to host for a while.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I really like adventures and meeting new people and cultures, so Couchsurfing seems like a perfect idea to me. I love travelling, but since I just quit my study and only was a student, I also do not have much money to spend (let's be honest, less money spending is more money for other adventures! :) I think it's a great way to help eachother out and also, you come to see places you normally wouldn't have (I've spent nights close to Finnish wilderness thanks to a great host where there weren't even things as hostels or airbnbs ;) )

Music, movies ánd books in one section? Whoa.
Music-wise: I have a really broad taste. Alternative/indie rock and britpop are my main genres, but I like loads of other things as well. Some examples: David Bowie, Coldplay, Kasabian, Of Monsters And Men, Florence + The Machine, Foster The People, The Prodigy, Paramore, AWOLNATION, Empire Of The Sun, Two Door Cinema Club, Wintergatan, and so on and so on

Movies: I should definitely have someone recommend me stuff, I have not been watching too many movies. Although I will forever be in love with How To Train Your Dragon :)
I like series such as Sherlock, Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom, Orange Is The New Black... I also like to watch anime.

Books: Your average YA books: The Hunger Games, Maze Runner series, Divergent, Vivian versus the Apocalypse, Wonder
Also interesting books on climbing, musicians or psychology I love to read (Mountains of the Mind for instance)

I hiked the John Muir Way in Scotland last year
I've been in Finnish Lapland during winter, snowshoeing and saw the Northern Lights

I love to spontaneously say yes to things and that brings me great joy.

Teach: Dutch, English, random fun facts haha. About The Netherlands and its culture. Most of the time I'm not aware of the things I know, I've been told it's fun to hang around me and just talk, since I think of many different facets of a topic.

a new skill, whatever.
