ABOUT ME

De novembre 2011 à août 2012, nous avons fait un tour du monde des salles de cinéma et des cabines de projection, en Amérique du Sud, en Amérique du Nord, en Asie.
Depuis, nous avons ouvert un café culturel (Le Truc Café) sur Lannion dans les Côtes d'Armor (22), nous habitons au-dessus du bar. Nous avons deux petites filles et deux chats.
Projectionnistes de cinéma tous les deux et serveurs/barman, nous profitons de ce lieu pour projeter des films, organiser des concerts, expositions photos/peintures/sculptures, ...

For several years this idea of traveling around the world has been going through our mind. Realizing that we were in a pivotal period in both our personal and professional lives, the desire of discovery, of living differently has reached maturity. We wanted to find a purpose in this trip: to share our common passion.
We, young projectionists, feel very concerned by the turn that takes our trade, our training finished. For economic reasons, the film industry is going to digital projection, breaking with traditional techniques, related to the film.
This news has aroused our curiosity:
what about movie theaters in the world?
We will go to meet projectionists and spectators.
Through all these meetings, we propose a comparison between the European operation that we know and other systems that we will discover.
These several points of view exchanged, discussions will result on our return on the advance of digital technology in different theaters.
Our journey will begin with South America then North across Asia and finally Africa.
Our lifestyle and our means of travel (hitchhike, public transport, ...) will promote exchanges with local people, telling us about their relationship to cinema.
During our trip, we will regularly feed the blog.
We would like to request your help because the study that we are about to make will not be possible in few years ...
