About Me
I took a leap and started using Couchsurfing when I left home to travel around the world for a few years on my own from 2015-2017. It ended up being one of the best choices I made, and I can say that I'm a real believer in the Couchsurfing motto! I hope soon to be able to return the favor :)
I like to make art and play around with music, am teaching myself some new languages, and trying to facilitate the growth of a few local volunteer agencies. Service is where my heart is, so I hope you will be comfortable either hosting me or being hosted!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's silly to deny that money plays a role in most CSers use of the site; it caters to a cheap, minimalist / bohemian approach to traveling. HOWEVER, I really think that the people I've met and the kindness and education they've given me has vastly outweighed (and continues to outweigh) the monetary savings. I've learned so much, and I love to keep learning and making new friends from the places I visit!
Plus the CS community has been instrumental in expanding my culinary horizons!
Interests
I love backpacking and trekking, as well as art and photography. I enjoy good movies, good books, and good food! I'm easy to please.
I'm terrible at naming specific interests, but I'm pretty varied, so we can probably strike up a conversation somewhere!!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm willing to listen to almost everything at least once! Show me what music you have. I love movies, although I haven't seen many, and books are a close friend.
Favorite movies include: 2001 A Space Odyssey, Les Quatre Cents Coups, The Lord of the Rings, Suspiria (2018), Portrait of a Lady On Fire… the list goes on. I also love really well-made documentaries, like Planet Earth and Samsara.
Favorite books include: the impeccable Cloud Atlas, Native Son by Richard Wright, Brothers Karmazov and Crime and Punishment, The Poisonwood Bible, Middlesex, and many many nonfiction books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Can I count all of them? Being chased by a rhino in the jungle, trekking 4500m up into the Himalayas, completing the Camino de Santiago, diving off the Red Sea in Jordan, camel rides through the Arabian desert, dancing like crazy at a Turkish wedding, hitchhiking around Iceland... it goes on and on! Ask me in person for a better telling :)
Teach, Learn, Share
All I want is to learn and share - I don't know if I have too much in terms of teaching, unless it's random world facts. If pressed, I could share my experiences living around the world, some low cost and bush crafting techniques, and vegan recipes!
There are so many things to take in from the world; I think that's the main reason I travel.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I only have the backpack on my back, but I can share some knowledge and good conversation! I also may be able to cook something, or help you with plant identification.
