Hello! I'm William.
I'm originally from the UK but I'm currently working as an English teacher in a remote but exceedingly beautiful corner of Japan called Shimanto.

I love running, skiing and listening to music. I'm also partial to a little bit of baking.

My time left in Japan is limited and as I plan to return to the UK in August 2018 I'm hoping I can meet and host as many people as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to grab any opportunity I get to meet new people and make new friends. Since I arrived in Japan over 2 years ago I've spent almost every weekend travelling, experiencing new things and quite frankly it's been the best.

Couchsurfing represents the best opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and share stories. I've met some fascinating and truly lovely people through couchsurfing and I want to continue to do so, passing on the kindness that others have shown me.

Interests

I'm always open to trying new things and going to new places. Anything is possible if you just think hard enough about it.

My main hobby is running. I run as much as I can and currently I'm training for 2 marathons; both of them local. Ryoma Marathon in February '18 and Shimanto Town Marathon in April. When I return to the UK I'm planning to get into triathlons and one day achieve my goal of completing an Ironman triathlon.

I do also love skiing but where I'm living it's a little difficult to do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've completed the Shimanto 60km ultra marathon twice! First time I finished 10th in my age category.
