I'm respectful, smart and quiet. I'm also a painfully shy introvert who is trying to work on being more comfortable with socializing. I am hoping to move to The Netherlands and will be visiting and traveling across that country over the next 3 weeks. It takes a little time for me to feel comfortable with someone, but I enjoy deep meaningful conversation. I have strong opinions, but am open minded to others ideas and enjoy amiable debates as well as learning about other people's views and lifestyles. I am a Christian but have always loved learning about religions and like to hear people's personal beliefs about God or spirituality without judgement. (Yes, I actually invite Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses into my house to talk haha). I currently live on a farm in the sticks of Virginia with my 4 year old daughter. I was born and raised in central Virginia, moved to Philadelphia, PA when I was 27 and just recently came back to VA after 5 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet the local people in the places that I'm travelling to hear about their culture and perspectives.

I've always liked traveling to new places. For about 15 years, the only time I would travel was for Insane Clown Posse shows and events. Although that took me to over 20 states and helped me make friends all over the country, I didn't end up with many unique experiences in new locals (other than Detroit; I've had plenty of time exploring there thanks to the ICP). The past couple of years I've been trying to branch out to do more hiking and exploring and meet more people outside of my social circle (Juggalos). I spent 3 weeks traveling from central California up to Oregon, making stops along the way. I also spent 3 weeks in Peru hiking to Machu Picchu, exploring the Amazon rainforest, visiting Lima and experiencing the local culture in small towns along the way. Now I'm on my way for 3 weeks in The Netherlands visiting Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Drenthe, Velp, Rotterdam and The Hague.

I can't currently host because I'm living on my Dad's property in a tiny 1-bedroom apartment overtop of his milkbarn (I don't even own a couch for anybody to surf on lol). If my circumstances change, I would love to host travelers in my home on occasion in order to meet and learn about new people with wandering spirits.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many genres of literature; some of my favorite authors are: Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Jodi Picoult, Michael Crichton, Ken Follett, Robert Jordan, Issac Asimov, Bernard Cornwell, Charles Dickens and Barbara Kingsolver.

I've been a Juggalo for 21 years. I mostly listen to Insane Clown Posse, Reggae music and R&B. And Classic Rock when the radio is on.

I also like graphic novels. Some of my favorite comic authors are Gail Simone, Brian Azzarello, Robert Kirkman, Grant Morrison and Paul Dini. My favorite character series are Batman and the whole Bat Family, Wonder Woman, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Wolverine, Walking Dead, Green Arrow and Black Canary.

I prefer comedy movies, but also enjoy horror, drama and action. I generally watch TV series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a 4 day hike along the ancient Inca Trail ending at Machu Picchu.
