I'm a PhD student (it's like being an adult child), from South Africa. I'm studying how stem cells respond to stress. I enjoy being outside and going on spontaneous adventures. I like cycling, running, dogs, cooking, coffee, wine, beer, and interesting people. I don't like people when I'm tired and/or hungry, but otherwise I'm a pretty reasonable dude. I don't have time right now to fill in the rest of my profile - but I think you get the gist.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm currently in Finland on a research trip, and will be here for another month or so (until mid-June). I'm based in Turku at Abo Akademi University but I'd like to go on weekend trips to see the rest of the country. So I'm hoping I can travel a bit cheaper using couch surfing than Airbnb or other types of accommodation.

Música, películas y libros

Music is tough one to answer, it depends on mood. I'm into this guy called Shubh Saran at the moment - awesome fusion-jazz type stuff. Other artists I like in that mood would be Snarky Puppy and Hiatus Kaiyote.
But some artists you might find in my 'recently played' list would probably include Tool, Chance the Rapper, Chopin (you get the idea?).

Movies: also a toughie.. I enjoy the Marvel franchise movies - they're pretty simple to follow and easy to watch. Otherwise I enjoyed Goldstone, Swiss Army Man, Beginners, Another Earth. Some other randoms. I'm not really a movie snob.

Books: don't hate me, I don't read much. Of books I have read, my favourites would probably be the millennium series by Stieg Larsson.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I cycled 230 km in 16 hours once. It is an event called the Trans Baviaans. Felt like death afterwards but I hope to do it again one day (in a better time).
