About Me
HelIo, I'm Will :)
I went to China for a holiday, one thing led to another and now I've been travelling two years.
I'm a high energy type of guy and like to get out and do things, Most of my spare time I spend cooking or eating
Couch surfing isn't really new to me, I just never used an app (or a phone).
Staying with locals is great because I want to learn more about the world- not just tread all over it.
Student? Bored expat? Stranded missionary?
No problem, I like meeting people :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard from people I meet that couchsurfing is a bit of fun, and a good way to find out more about the cities you are traveling through.
locals always know more about places, and the stories they have to tell are better than guidebooks .
When I travel being social takes the stress out of things, anywhere I can cook is great, anything I can learn is awesome .
At home when I'm not traveling myself I'd like to host some people who are, even if you're just looking for some advice about the area or a guide
Interests
I like to travel, eat, sleep. Don't have much time for anything else at the moment :)
- cooking
- traveling
- eating out
- outdoor activities
Music, Movies, and Books
I like the rolling stones, nouvelle vague, the white stripes, and the doors
My favourite movies are Amelie, Waltz with Bashir, Layer cake, City of god and Nausica
I read mostly very boring political non-fiction, instruction manuals and the like.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In January this year I got the opportunity to see the Tibetan part of china in west Sichuan province and meet some of the people there, it was a fantastic experience many people aren't fortunate enough to have had.
I never expected to see monks driving cars or wearing sneakers under their robes, I found a frozen snow leopard in a fridge, and almost fell off a mountain when a road collapsed.
What I Can Share with Hosts
People say I have some good stories to tell, some of them are even true ;)
Did I mention that I cook?
