About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was traveling with an ol' friend and she introduced me to the community while we're on the road.. At first I was skeptical, but I trusted her and I had my first couch surf in Sudbury Ontario. I simply Loved it. The genuine social interest of the hosts had me hooked. We talked for hours around a mini-bon fire in the back and the neighbours showed up to share their traveling experiences. It was really neat.

I think the following day I developed a Profile of my own. Taada!

Interests

I'm entering a point in my life where my interest in learning about the internal environment is becoming more prominent. I wish to develop the so called soft skills of being. for example Emotional intelligence, spiritual and self awareness, circumventing negativity and public speaking.

Music, Movies, and Books

*********************Music****************************************************************************************

I'm not picky with music. All genres have their gems. Some great artists in particular, Corb Lund, Tragically Hip, Headstones, Big Sugar ( all hell for a basement ... is awesome ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPviM4g4XWQ). There is a new character I'm starting to really appreciate. His name is David Dino White, I seen him play live in North Bay and I was really impressed. He played the guitar, the drums ( with his feet of course haha) and sang all at the same time. Super cool.

*********************Movies**************************************************************************************

I'm not a big movie guy... I think they've traded telling a good story for moral browbeating the audience. I recently started watching the old movies, movies from the first half of the 20th century. Back in the day when the main actors were also the stunt double ahha. One movie that I liked that was fairly recent is called Adams Apple. Its a Danish dark comedy.

*********************Books***************************************************************************************

I've been voluntarily institutionalized ( university ) for about 8 years, so the majority of the readings were prescribed. I'm more of a collector of books haha... The intent to read them is there but not the time. Well, there are exceptions. I'm currently reading the book, 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson. This guy is a character. If you don't already know of him, I recommend watching an interview with him. This one will forever be a classic --->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMcjxSThD54

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a few years ago, an ol' friend had shown me an abandoned chapel hidden in the forest a few hours south of Vienna. No doors were locked and the floor was loaded with rat carcasses. The center of the room held a coffin tomb shadowed by a 25' wooded cross and color-stained religious glass ornaments. There was an opening in the marble flooring to which lead under the tomb, to the coffin itself, but after considering the toxicity of decaying animals we stayed above ground. Spooky but interesting times.

Teach, Learn, Share

*********************Teach****************************************************************************************

I don't consider myself a teacher, but I like to help people understand certain concepts particularly scientific concepts. The avoidance of the word "teacher" is the result of PTSD in action... the Involuntary institutionalization ( grade-school ) haha

*********************Learn****************************************************************************************

I'm particularly interested in learning from people who are passionate about their interests. Anything can be interesting if the individual is genuinely interested in the subject matter, Right? If someone is interested in say....Dog Grooming, (not really my thing) and that someone can articulate why they're interested in Dog Grooming, they shed light onto something more interesting than cutting dog hair haha.

*********************Share****************************************************************************************

Aside from the social communications which I assume to be a given in the event of the C-Surf, I like organizing and cleaning. I'm very detail oriented, and I like to see operations run smoother. I like he idea of make one thing better every single place you go.
