About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I live one day at a time with an optimistic approach to life.
Hosting will depend on my housemate's schedule. He is Korean and his family lives out of town and sometimes visits here at short notice.

ABOUT ME

I'm easy going and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I'm American enjoy travel and new experiences and decided to come to Korea for one year. But fell in love with the country and people and took a job at a university where I worked for 10 years. I'm now an English Education Consultant working mainly with local hospitals here in Korea.

PHILOSOPHY

"When was the last time you did something for the first time?"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am enjoying surfers of all ages and am happy when I can help them enjoy Busan during their visit here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have many memorable experiences with my hosts in Europe and Asia as well as surfers here in Korea.

Interests

I really enjoy cooking Korean foods as well as dining on ethnic foods of various countries.
I like swimming, biking, skiing, movies and finding places that are "away from the tourist sites" that show how people live and differences in cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

My specialization at university was English Literature and Music. But I prefer the music part to the literature. I appreciate the form of art in all types of music and enjoy hearing the various sounds.
I love movies of all types but prefer independent films over "Hollywood" style. I love foreign films and really like a mystery/suspense movie that has a great "twist". My favorite Korean films are those of Kim Ki Duk. My favorite movie of all time is "Gone With the Wind".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think it was an amazing time in my life when I was the head of a two room school with 25 students in rural Vermont, USA.
I taught school in Alaska for 14 years and it was amazing the first time I saw the Northern Lights.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English and Korean cooking and how to make pizza bread, and the best brownies and pasta carbonara in Korea.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The chance to share our life stories..... growing up, travel experiences, views of the world and its various cultural differences. And without a doubt I can bring laughter into your home.
