I started teaching myself languages when I was 10. I know speak several extremely well and a few more passably well.

I spent a semester abroad in Málaga, Spain... followed by 2 weeks in Italy and 2 weeks in the Netherlands.

I worked at Boeing as a systems engineer for a couple of years... and I now teach Brazilians how to improve their American accent.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love connecting with people and ideas and emotions, not so much with buildings and photos, in themselves. When I travel, I always try to learn the language and get to know the local people and culture "on the street" by actually hanging out with them and getting to know them.

Now that I've been back in the US for a while, Couchsurfing is a cool way to keep that travelling spirit alive.

Interests

Hablo español (y andaluz, noveee) a nivel bastante alto, posso manter uma conversa em portugues sem muitos problemas, en ik spreek nederlands niet zo goed, maar ik wil het leren!

I like trying to connect things that are seemingly disparate (I bet you I could relate the reason you ran out of cereal today to a high pass filter, to foosball tricks, etc. Challenge me!) I like asking questions about the world around me. I can be entertained almost anywhere, by looking at the materials and objects around me, and thinking: "How did this get here? What is this thing's/person's story? Why does it exist?"
