Heya! Hmm, about me... I guess I can write a thing or two.

I was born and raised in California, lived in Yosemite National Park for 13 years (best place on earth, by the way), and later moved up to Northern California when my dad retired from the park service. I joined the Navy and have been stationed in Norfolk Virginia for the past 4 years... which brings me to today.

Recently I had the option to sign that contract again and serve my country for another 4 years, but, ya know, I was in the mood for something different. So now I'm on a cross continental journey. With nothing but what I can carry in a backpack, I'm making my way back to California on foot. California is home to me, and instead of hopping on a plane I figured I'd make an adventure out of heading back. I plan on using my GI bill for college, but until then, I'm going to travel, learn, meet new people and just live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I've heard about it in the past, and always thought it sounded interesting. Now doing what I'm doing, it seems to be the perfect opportunity. I'm trying to meet new people, be more open and outgoing. I've never really been a social butterfly.
