About Me
CURRENT MISSION
NOW...WOW!!
ABOUT ME
Was a mailman for 20 years. Worked ten years as a recreation therapist. Drove school bus for 6 years and a taxi for 2 weeks. One year doing door to door canvasing for an environmental organization. Played in various Senior Softball national tournaments. Started singing lessons late in life and my teacher was awesome. I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Divorced and been single for a long time. I may be the oldest person to perform in the All-Campus Review at Texas State University when I was 44 years old. I lived in Commons Hall which was for older students and we put together a blues band and I sung and played harmonica. I named us The Uncommon Commons Hall Blues Band. We weren't very good but it was a lot of fun.
PHILOSOPHY
Feel the fear and do it anyway. Most of my life has been controlled by fear. I used to think life was about comfort...but it isn't. I now choose adventure instead of neurosis. Life is now!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've use it to go to California to attend the Science and Nonduality Conference, my trip to The Netherlands, attend a Society for American Baseball Research National Convention in Houston, and last October attended the International Conference on the Blues at Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi thanks to a couple of very gracious and knowledgeable CSing hosts.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the 70s I hitch-hiked from Ft. Worth to Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival. Then down to Alabama and back to Texas. Great memories. My trip to Holland was so beautiful. First time out of the states. Didn't think it would happen.
Interests
Member of the Society For American Baseball Research, more as a fan than researcher. Performed in four musical plays in the last 12 years. I tell baseball stories. Performed The Last Inning at FronteraFest at Hyde Park Theatre in Austin, Texas. You can see that on YouTube. Just type in...The Last Inning.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bladerunner one of my favorite movies. I like Documentaries. All kinds of music but Aqualung by Jethro Tull is still at the top of my list. Love da blues. Read mostly nonfiction but have read To Kill a Mockingbird twice. Enjoy live theater.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been to the Baseball Hall of Fame three times, 1959, 89, and 2017. Hitch-hiking from Texas to Ann Arbor, Michigan for Jazz and Blues Festival to Alabama back to Texas in the 70s. Not amazing but returned to college in my 40s. Saw Frank Zappa at Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. Now that was amazing. Couchsurfed with a friend on Long Island to attend Babe Ruth Conference in 95 and Jackie Robinson Conference in 97.
