ABOUT ME
I'm a traveller and couch surfer at heart. I recently had a blast couch surfing in Asia, and now I'm back home in my home town of Melbourne.
I'm a lot of other things too. Find out for yourself!
PHILOSOPHY
This is a toughie..
I'm really just in it for the experience. And there's no better way to accumulate experience than by meeting people who live locally in a place. Making happy memories. Having no regrets!
And keeping cosmological perspective... as well as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a lot in Asia, for nearly 6 months straight. It was the best. Now I'm back home, hoping to meet up with travellers... cos it's always fun :)
Sometimes I go to the beach south-west of Melbourne, if you're around you can come too. It's beautiful down there.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Extensive surfing experience in Japan & South Korea, a little in Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia. Everyone is so nice!
Now I have some experience hosting surfers and events here in Melbourne :)
Interests
Outdoors. Hiking. Cycling. Walking. Looking. Travelling. Swimming! Talking. Gaming! Plants. Sustainable living. Eating. Scuba diving! Snorkelling! Astronomy (I bought a rad telescope last year). Seeing as much as I can about what the cosmos has to offer. Languages. Thinking.... it might be easier to list things I'm not interested in??

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into a wide variety of music. My roots are in Jazz but I have branched out into anything else I find interesting. Interesting, or just that sounds really good. Not much pop. I guess mainly instrumental music (without vocals) seems to be what I enjoy most. But I'm pretty open minded! Lately been getting into late 70s/early 80s British New Wave (which is completely the opposite of what I said I'm mainly into haha).
I like lots of different types of movies - from documetaries, to action, to comedies and classics. I especially like lesser known art films, such as those which came out of the French New wave (Breathless for eg).
I like to read older books as well. Mid-late twentieth century novels seem to be what I find myself reading mainly. I recently read a collection of short stories by Kurt Vonnegut which was AWESOME.
But also practical books, like books about tying knots! And about how to navigate the night sky!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a week in the remote Laotian Jungle, staying in tree houses. The only way in and out was via zip lines (awesome). And all as a means for raising money for habitat preservation for gibbons and their ecosystem. Pretty rad.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to talk about science, and the cosmos, life on Earth...and I'd like to share opinions and experiences regarding these things, and anything else.. and I really wanna improve on my Japanese language skills!
