CURRENT MISSION

hello! i am traveling to europe for several months next week. i have been traveling for almost 3 months in south africa and the caribbean, attending weddings. there is another wedding in italy this september, and traveling along the way beforehand.

ABOUT ME

besides being OBSESSED with traveling, i love the outdoors - everything from hiking to biking. i'm an avid yogi and love to eat healthy, although i do enjoy wine and cocktails with friends. i have a boyfriend that will be traveling with me for a couple weeks, and we are very easygoing, friendly, and love immersing in the local culture. we prefer to stay with families or locals when traveling somewhere new, it's the best way to really get a feel for the new country or city. i am a filmmaker who loves to take pictures of natural beauty and people, i always see things as a photo opportunity and have to capture it. i hope to meet you!

PHILOSOPHY

i live life in hopes of always living true to myself, not trying to fit into any societal mold. the idea of picking up and traveling for several months doesn't fit the normal model of what you're supposed to be doing in your 30's. it just felt like something i had always wanted to do, and just did it. my philosophy is that if you really want something in life, it will eventually happen but you have to work at it and make it a priority. all things will fall into place if you truly want it, but it may take a lifetime to get there.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

as i'm new to couchsurfing, i haven't yet been able to host or have been hosted. i look forward to being hosted in the cities in europe this summer, and when i'm back home to return the favor. i love to show off where i live in the san francisco bay area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

at this time i don't have any experience, but am eager to start participating - i have heard wonderful things from friends about their couchsurfing experiences. the closest thing i've come to couchsurfing is through a company called, airbnb. i've stayed in people's homes all over the world using this website and have had great interactions and have made lifelong friends along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

i love docs, and true stories if i'm reading a book. something about the real life stories are much more interesting to me, but i can get into a reality show once and awhile :) i love to read, and do much more of it while traveling. yet another good reason to travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i went to kenya to volunteer in a school, and loved it so much that i went back a year later. we put on a workshop where we created a 20 minute fiction film with local youth who acted in and produced the movie. it was a surreal experience i will never forget.
