ABOUT ME

I am currently working as a registered nurse in sunny, San Diego. Helping people and having opportunities to travel is the best of both worlds. I love adventure, sports, and meeting people. Traveling has always inspired me to just appreciate how fortunate we really are in life. During the winter I love to snowboard, and I also really like to play golf. Always love to drink beer, share stories, and laugh!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am not hosting at the moment as I am in nursing school. Hopefully I will be finished and have a place where I can accommodate surfers as hosts have done for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have had the opportunity to surf throughout Sweden, Amsterdam, and Austria as well. All of my hosts have been great and opened my eyes up to see how generous people really are. Love when you meet people that are all on the same page and are just fricken cool!

Interests

It seems as though I spend all my days at work wishing I was traveling somewhere else. So yes, I have gotten really good at day dreaming at work while still being productive! I love technology and computers in my spare time. I am not a nerdy geek but I love just being current with everything that's on the market today. I love photography and I think it is such a great way to express emotion in photographs. Great pictures can tell a story, and can make you feel like you were there all along watching the pictures being taken. School has also been another motivation for me in life. I have always tried to work hard and that hard work has definitely paid off. And something that is really important to me is just trying to be stress free and enjoy life for what it is. Just be happy. At times, it may seem easier to come up with 10 more reasons to be unhappy and disappointed at something, but I have found that most of the time it's not even worth your energy to get worked up about it. Besides being happy is way better, I think we can all agree (or at least I hope)!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all kinds of movies, especially comedy and action. I am always up for a good movie that will make me laugh.
Some of my favorites include: Rat Race, Anchorman, A Night at the Roxburry, Dumb and Dumber, Into the Wild, Meet the Fockers, Grown Ups 2, Pineapple Express, Borat, Wanderlust, I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I am a big music person. I play piano (although not much as of late). I also spend much of my spare time finding new music and exploring what new artists have to offer to the music scene. I also like to go to concerts, even if it means going alone!

Bands that I like are Avicii, One Republic, Sick Puppies, Trapt, ACDC, Guns n Roses, The Wanted, Hurts, DJ Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Bob Marley, Bon Jovi, U2, Macklemore, Tube & Berger, The Script, Jimmy Eat World, Good Charlotte, Timeflies, Friday Night Boys, Quietdrive, One Direction, Martin Solveig, Nervo, Laidback Luke, Lorde, Zara Larsson, Robin Schulz, Maroon 5, Mike Posner, Collin McLoughlin, Imagine Dragons, Klingande, Sammy Adams, AWOLNATION, Alesso, Zion I, Wiz Khalifa, Viceroy, and Archie.

I don't prefer to spend my time reading books but some of my favorite reads have been "A Cat's Cradle" and "1942".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been bungee jumping at the 3rd highest bungee jump in the world in New Zealand (Nevis Bungee 134m), I have been snowboarding in New Zealand, Road tripped both the north island and south island (new zealand), spent a couple weeks in amsterdam, traveled to Bruges and Brussels in Belgium, stayed in Jurmala (Latvia) for a couple weeks, went to Lithuania and saw DJ Tiesto on the beach at a big music festival, and I have been snowboarding in Whistler Canada. I am ready to continue adding to the list, so please help me in the search for creating life experiences!

I have since been to Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech republic, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria. Backpacked around for 2 and 1/2 months, the best time of my life. Met the coolest people and experienced life in a way I have never experienced before.

Where to next? India? Dying to go to Sziget in 2017!
