About Me
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
To meet a sacred community of writers and justice organizers in New York City... And also to find a place to sleep!✌️😌
ABOUT ME
Working class kid who grew up in a factory town, and got more lucky breaks than I'm convinced anyone deserves.
Life is a series of minor unbecomings, and then at some point that flips, and it's all of a sudden a great becoming. I feel like the second half is where I'm at.
In more concrete terms I'm a health justice community organizer working to pass Medicare for All, and a fiction writer, and I'm moving to New York City this fall to start an MFA at NYU. I use he and him pronouns. I'd love to stay with you! ☭⚤📖🍲🏥⚖
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel in as anticapitalist a mode as possible?

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm reading Daniel Borzutsky's brilliant new book of prose poetry "The Performance of Becoming Human" and Eve Ewing's "Ghosts in the Schoolyard" about education justice in Chicago.
I'm also really into the vein of comedy that branched off from Adult Swim shorts. I think it could be less masc centered but absurdity makes me laugh.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to spend the last week of his life with my grandfather, and he told me incredible stories, including the time he accidentally took his waspy English mom to a strip club in Tijuana. So there's that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach fiction writing, how to have better workshops for your art and better meetings for your movement, negotiation and lobbying, project management, vegetarian cooking, basic car repair, improv riffing
What I Can Share with Hosts
One thing people really like is being interviewed about their life! I can give you a recording and ask you cool questions. It's a lot of fun!
Courtesy, a lot of kindness, food and cooking and housework help. We can negotiate what you'd like to have done in exchange for sharing your space and energy!
