ABOUT ME

I grew up in the Columbia River Gorge (Washington state)-- an amazing place to call home! I opened a business in 2005, in August of 2009 I sold my half of it because I want to go back to school (it's about time) and travel (simultaneously, as much as possible).

My catalyst: In 2008 I took an extended vacation and hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (from Mexico to Canada). My priorities changed a bit from the experience...

I am now working seasonally at an amazing rafting company in my hometown, traveling/volunteering during the winter, and continuing to study.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While hiking the PCT I was lucky enough to get to couch-surf quite a bit with fabulous people who opened their homes to hikers. They're called "Trail-Angels". That's how I heard about couch-surfing actually, at a Trail-angel's house, talking to other hikers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I thru-hiked the PCT in 2008 - Mexico to Canada (2,655 miles) in 5 1/2 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm...I know how to trim most breeds of dog-- very useful, I know. I have tons of experience grooming/training/caring for pets (including owning/operating a pet salon for 4 years). I've been riding (horses) since I was six weeks old. I bake a mean apple pie (thanks to my Mother and Grandmother :D). I can also bake bread, cinnamon rolls, yummy things.

I'm *trying* to learn Mandarin Chinese (it's hard!).
