Hi, I’m Yohanes Windu, an Indonesian. April, 2010, when I first came to Japan as a student, and in that period of time I fell in love with Japan. I was so enchanted with Japan that I wanted to stay in this country for good. So, here I am, working at a company in Kyoto. I have reasons why I love Japan, and specially this city, Kyoto, and I think I can share to you during your stay.

I graduated with a PhD in Biobased Material Science from Kyoto Institute of Technology.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you simple Japanese, I found it is very interesting if you can greet locals with simply “konnichiwa”, “ohayou”, etc.

I love photography, I’d like to take your travel photos and share as your memorabilia of your visit.

And of course, please share your culture, stories, and language too...
Every moment is fresh and brand new for me, I’m so looking forward to spend some time together with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very busy working during weekdays, and with the little time I have left, I just feel I don’t have enough time to share with you, because couchsurfing is all about sharing the time and having fun together right!

But, during weekends I want to spend my extra energy to hear your stories, learning something from you.

I can take you to some interesting places in Kyoto. When the nights is come, I can take you to some japanese taverns (izakaya) to try traditional japanese food and drinks. Or just take some beers or sake in my room.

I have one extra futon (japanese bedding) for your stay, or you can sleep on my couch as well.
Please feel free during your stay, you can cook, or do anything you want. But one thing, my room is a non-smoking room, so please refrain from smoking anywhere inside the room.
