I've wanted to travel around the states for years, but only recently found the courage to let go of my stable life last September.

I took off with my partner Sarah (pictured with me in a flower-outfit) and we've used her couch-surfing account until now.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

From September through now (January) I've been making connections through my communities in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest where I was raised, but now that I'm in the Southern half of the US I don't know as many people, so I need to make new connections! I also love meeting friendly people and have had great experiences couchsurfing so far.

Interessen

Improv music, driving long distances, poetry, conversation, an occasional beer, biology, the rhythms and cycles and meanings of nature, plants and their medicinal properties, consciousness, the process of aging, the interactions of different generations, art museums, farms, tea, Halloween, spirituality, truth!

Current books:
I'm reading Insectopedia, a really beautiful vision of the insect world and human interaction with insects. I just gave away Sisters of the Earth, which is a book full of women's experiences healing and growing in nature. And I am currently on a Walt Whitman kick. His poetry is so personal and instructive, and I use it for inspiration and healing.

Movies:
Interstellar was my favorite movie of 2014, and possibly one of the best films I've ever seen. It's still in my mind, months after seeing it.

Miyazaki anime is so good.
