About Me

WHO AM I: I'm a lawyer and artist from Berlin and Rome and I - attention, plot twist - love travelling! hah, I guess that's why we're all here, right? I'm always seeking to connect with people in a city that I'm new to, hanging out and exploring the streets throug the day or the night - I tend to be a nightowl, so if you also like to stay up until late with a glass of red wine or grape juice and get lost in fun, weird, rabbithole-conversations, I'm sure we can become great friends!

INTERESTS/WHAT INSPIRES ME:

I'm very into theatre and performance - either as an audience or while I'm on stage myself. I'm in a couple of dance collectives and occasionally take part in different theatre projects.
Apart from that, I love having a relaxed afternoon reading a good book or immersing myself in an art exhibition or just "flaneuring" around the city.

Diving into discussions about philosophical topics or problems or ideas (or all of those together) is something that makes my synapses spark and always leaves me inspired.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many of the great travel memories that I carry with me stemmed from conversations and encounters I've had with people from all over the world I met while travelling (or welcoming them in my hometown) - often they actually grew into real and amazing friendships, regardless of the long distances that separate us.

Music, Movies, and Books

My goodness, where to start....

My book interests stretch from the likes of Jane Austen to David Mitchell (crazy stories, I highly recommend) and include also "serious" philosophy books (in case the brain is not rummaging enough already)

What I'd always recommend to anyone who's asking (or not asking, even better heh):
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Flicker by Theodore Roszak
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
Rules of Civility by Amor Towles

When it comes to music I'm primarily and especially a huge fan of
Khruangbin
Night Tapes (an amazing London-based band)
and everything post-punk and new wave (thanks to my berlin cultural upbringing hehe)

When it comes to movies, they have to be either absurd in a certain sense or atmospheric in order to impress me...that's why I enjoy watching works by Hitchcock, Paolo Sorrentino or some black&white classics ("I soliti ignoti" or "Roman Holiday").

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I came across one of my favourite poems while I was waiting at a tram station in the middle of the night and suddenly someone appeared out of nowhere, reciting this very poem in front of me, for me, then disappeared back into the dark withouth another word...

Teach, Learn, Share

My passion for terrible puns and a good bottle of wine (and the fact that I find dish washing somehow relaxing)
