I haven't used Couch surfing in some time, but it appears to still be here!
Most of my vacations for the last few years have been week long bike tours, but this November I'm going to try something different: go to Ireland with just a backpack. It's also grey and rainy in Maine, so why not.
I live in a tourist city and work at a very busy bakery here, so being a tourist is definately a little at odds with me.

I love music, though I can't play... I'm very fond of music that's either Celtic or comes from Celtic roots, blues, jazz, above all live. I have to spend a few hours every week in the presence of good musicians. I go to a Contra Dance every Thursday, which is a type of american line dance, sort of like céilí, square dancing and swing dancing mixed... I'll send you a video of it if you're curious, it's hard to describe.

I don't have a car, and never have. I have had many bicycles.

I've been living with perhaps too many roommates, and hosting a great number of friends & relatives in the last year, so I haven't hosted recently. It's always worth asking though, sometimes I am free.

I'm a professional baker at a large artisan bakery, so if you have any questions about sourdough I can probably answer them. I know a fair bit about pastry as well, though I'm really liking working with bread; it's real food & it's a lot less fussy.

I know about bicycles; I can diagnose and sometimes fix them. I've done a fair amount of bike touring, so I can talk about that maybe share what tips I have if you want them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let me know if you want or need anything I can get without too much trouble on my way; I'll bring it; coffee, tea, milk, whatever.

I'll almost certainly show up with more beers than I plan on drinking, and leave them in your fridge.
