About Me
CURRENT MISSION
This is not a dress reheasal, this is for real. I still have problems convincing myself
ABOUT ME
Got off to a good start, cycling around Britain from 13 years old, then conformity kicked-in. I guess, there is still some of the kid in me that craves adventure. Sue, my second wife, still works hard as a lecturer in Textiles. We have four adult children, all part of a happy extended family. Currently have 3 grandchildren, likely to increase. We have really enjoyed the company of our couchsurfer friends and hope it is mutual.
PHILOSOPHY
You spend your life worrying about things which could happen but unless someone is going to die, are not important.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Long before Couch surfing, as we know it, a complete stranger offered my mate and I, a bed for the night, he had been drinking and the alternative was a park bench. His wife and family were put to a lot of inconvenience but our trust was rewarded and many years later I look upon that incident fondly. (My mother never got to know!)
Keen to introduce the 12 year old grandson to couchsurfing we spent a great two days in France - his verdict was, it was awesome!
Interests
I sing in a Community Choir and and arranged an exchange with a Slovenian choir we met on a CS expedition. We have sung at various venues, even been on the same show as Ringo Starr. Started as volunteer, reading with Primary School kids
My wife is the creative one, she is a Textile Designer and Tutor. She is keen to find inspiration from people who share her passion for embroidery.

Music, Movies, and Books
Varied musical taste, Bruch, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens. Guns n' Roses. If I read its usually an autobiography.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Best holiday experiences - taking a rowing boat out on the Kyles of Bute in Scotland, finding a fishing line and catching mackerel fish for our supper. Spending an afternoon in an embroidery shop in Tuscany and listening to the experiences of an 86 year old. Having fondue with relatives of our CS friends, high up in the Swiss Alps
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well its Sue that is the really creative one. She teaches textiles and has a vast library on the subject. When she is not thinking about textiles its the garden
