CURRENT MISSION

I am passing along my love for photography and filmmaking to my students. I am also working on a project where I interview and photograph WWII veterans.

ABOUT ME

I'm a creative, outdoorsy, fun loving person. I play fiddle and I step dance and I'm a analog and digital photographer. I love meeting new people and learning from them as well as teaching them. I always have a second fiddle for those who want to play with me or to learn and I'm always up to teaching a few steps of step dancing or teaching someone how to work a view camera. I've travelled a lot and have some hilarious stories from the trips I've been on and I like trading stories with people.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to tell my story and other peoples stories through my art. Everyone has a story, whether they know it or not.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently surfing, but I would love to host once I've moved somewhere where my landlord allows it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent the summer after I graduated undergrad driving across Canada. I spent many nights couchsurfing and met a ton of cool people. I jammed with them and played in concerts with them and had an overall great time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in Edinburgh, UK's Beltane fire festival as a torchie in the Night Watch. Let me tell you, it is quite an experience. There are drums and lots of fire and ceremony and people dressed only in body paint. It's an experience hard to explain in writing, but, it was life changing and incredible. I can describe it better in person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a photographer who works in both analog and digital mediums. I have enlargers and work in multiple formats. I can teach people how to work a view camera or how to photoshop and image. I can teach someone how to develop film and paper and how to work in a darkroom. I'm also a fiddle player. I always keep an extra fiddle with me for those who want to jam or for those who want to learn. I've taught many people step-dancing, and love to do it. I can also teach you Scottish Ceilidh dances, which are fun and dear to me.
