About Me

CURRENT MISSION: To choose hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

ABOUT ME: I know no strangers, only friends I haven't met yet. But I'm also a devoted leftist engaged in politics in Poland and Germany. And a hitchhiker. And a migrant.

PHILOSOPHY: Other people matter. We do not live alone on an island, we live in a world full of people with concerns and hopes, and we are integrally connected with them. We share our joy and commiserate in our sadness. Our success is not just our own, but the success of all of those who encourage us. It is our connections with others that give life meaning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a veteran couch-surfer, and I find hosting to be very rewarding as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There's nothing like almost sleeping outside in parks to really make you appreciate a nice floor. ;)

On a serious note, CouchSurfing helps restore my faith in the goodness of humanity. In the news there are so many awful stores about the harm that we inflict upon our fellow people, it can be easy to become pessimistic. The act of kindness of opening up your home to a stranger in need is a beautiful response to this negative energy.

Interests

Meeting new people, history, philosophy, music, singing and whistling loudly in public, bicycling, swimming, politics, literature, hitchhiking, chocolate, and laughter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gone swimming in a lake in February, and hitchhiked from Slovenia to my hometown in Poland in one day, my personal record distance for hitchhiking ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

As a former student of Polish philology and Anthropology, I can say a lot about Polish culture and recent history (Not necessary in Polish). ;P

I'm also a hitchhiker, and I would be happy to talk about my experiences and answer any questions you may have about hitchhiking. A lot of people have conceptions about the dangers or difficulties of hitchhiking, but there are strategies and tips that can make it an approachable way to travel.

Countries I’ve Visited
