About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To truly live each day.

ABOUT ME

Life can be quite the experience can't it? I'm just trying to get through all of its complexities somewhat intact while hoping to enjoy all that it has to offer. We are all together in this journey of existence and I'm more than happy to share my time here in this universe with a fellow traveler. Let's sit back, relax, and laugh for a bit at the knowledge that tomorrow will bring a future neither of us can even guess.

P.S. I'm Theodore Roosevelt's no 1 fan.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm trying to make this world a better place by trying to educate those around me and at work. I often feel that with just a little more info, we could all live much more productive and happier lives.

"One of the best-paying professions is getting a hold of pieces of country in your mind, learning their smell and their moods, sorting out the pieces of a view, deciding what grows there and there and why, how many steps that hill will take, where this creek winds and where it meets the other one below, what elevation timberline is now, whether you can walk this reef at low tide or have to climb around, which contour lines on a map mean better cliffs or mountains. This is the best kind of ownership, and the most permanent...It feels good to say 'I know the Sierra' or 'I know Point Reyes.' But of course you don't--what you know better is yourself, and Point Reyes and the Sierra have helped."
-Terry & Renny Russell, from On the Loose (1969)

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
-Albert Einstein

"It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them."
-Alfred Adler

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul.”
-John Muir

Music, Movies, and Books

Books on my shelf:
The Autobiography of Theodore Roosevelt,
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury,
My First Summer in the Sierra by John Muir,
The Essential C.S. Lewis, etc.

TV Shows:
Arrested Development, The X-Files, Firefly, Myth Busters, Star Trek, etc...

Music:
Basically Classic Rock and any electronica or like: Daft Punk, Cut Copy, DJ Shadow, etc. Most "pop" music seems to lack passion.

Food:
Is amazing. I'll try anything once, but there's quite a lot I wouldn't eat twice. (Ex: Sushi...don't understand the craze for expensive raw food)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked as a Park Ranger! Lived on an island! Backpacked across the Sierra Nevada mountain range! Etc.
