About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have as many moments of the "I feel I'm really alive" feeling as possible.

ABOUT ME

I'm a psychology graduate, my current work is not related and kinda boring. I'm also a mechanical engineering student. I love experiencing new things, new places and new people. When I'm in a bar in foreign country I prefer to order things that are as strange to me as possible.

I'm an introvert who loves to socialise and meet people. Yes, this is totally not contradictory. I'm curious about people and always try to see their positive sides. I like to talk with people, party and have fun, but I also have a more quiet, reflective side. I guess I'm kind of a multi purpose person ;).

PHILOSOPHY

Who dares, wins. This simple rule has never failed me before.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've always been the surfer. I wish I could host too, to pay back to the community, but my accomodation arrangement makes it impossible for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was mostly crashing at my friend's flats\rooms in Vienna, Malaga, Las Palmas.. Also had two 'real' [i.e. via couchsurfing.org] couch surfing experiences: in Bergamo and in Amsterdam. I loved it!
I'm just a beginner in real couch surfing, but I hope it'll be gradually changing in time :)

Interests

If I were to list one thing, it would be music (both listening to it, and creating it).

And apart from music? Photography, mountains, astronomy and spaaace.

I also love bicycling and I ride a motorcycle from time to time. I actually use a bicycle ever day for commuting and I think that travelling via bicycle is probably the best way to do it. You get to really experience all the places that you visit, you move fast, but you can still meet people, you are totally free and can go anywhere you want.

Music, Movies, and Books

for music check out my last.fm: http://www.lastfm.pl/user/Wilq59r . There's many different things there, but I think I will never get over my love for good old rock and blues.

Movies: various. Lately a lot of Sci-Fi. I also like movies that make me feel things. For example Linklater, Jarmush, Coen Bros. I won't say "no" to a blockbuster too.

Books: Catch 22 would be one of my favorites. As a genre, I really enjoy S-F (especially so called hard sf: Lem, Clarke etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most vivid travelling memories was the carnival of 2011 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The city center was literally filled with dressed up people of all ages having fun at once, and there were marching orchestras everywhere, it's hard to put to words!

One other thing was recent: I climbed Mount Kazbek. It's over 5 km high, covered in snow and glaciers. There were crevasses, falling rocks, freezing temperatures (in the middle of a hot summer in Georgia) , altitude sickness and no contact with civilization for 5 days and it was awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give guitar lessons and explain some basics (really basics) of music theory. I can also solder stuff and fix your bicycle :).
