About Me
Hey, I'm Alex!
glad you made it to my profile, I'd love to tell you a little bit about myself.
So at the moment I am a student living in Bonn, Germany where I study agriculture. Agriculture was not my first choice, but when i started studying i soon realised that this i what i want to do and what i need to do. Currently doing my masters in agriculture and food economics and love to talk to you about everything related to it. I am very interested in sustainability, social justice and gender in relation to agriculture!
I’m quite social and easy going when I travel and I am happy to invite you to indulge yourself with me in adventures! Let’s explore!
My current hobbies range from videography (i would like to learn more about it), bouldering, running and especially Cross Fit! - they constantly change though - I can get easily facinated by everything!
Currently I work at an ngo that protects the rain forest, where I write educational content.
I’ve been living in Bonn for 6 years now and it never gets boring here: each year here is something new to explore or do. Currently investing plenty of time in a collective I co founded this year @bonding_kollektiv - and have been hosting 7 parties already including 3 outdoor raves. I also DJ house/tech-house/techno and Hardgroove) we are currently planning a day festival wohoo! The mission is always: bring joy, create community, enable people to enjoy themselves - in a non commercial environment without having to spend money to access it! I also started djing this year - techno and hardgroove - if you want to learn something about it or share your skills with me - with pleasure!
More about me:
I'm a vegan, a skater, an adventurer, a citizen of the world, I like to dance, be weird, make terrible jokes and I like talking to strangers.
I love how random human encounters can change lifes, so I'm excited to share my story in exchange for yours. :)
Im amazed by the fact that we can learn so much if we actively listen and observe our environment. Every person you meet can teach you something if you let them - thats why i love travelling and couchsurfing so much!
I'd say im more of a shy person in the beginning (can be but don't have to be depending on my mood) but the more i get to know people the more i let go and embrace the person i am. That is something i am working on - besides many other things. "Head up in the clouds" is a quite fitting term for me id say. But you might find out yourself!
Exploring
I haven't travelled a lot while living in Bonn because i have gotten quite cozy in this town but when i get out of town im really excited about exploring and seeing more places/ meeting more people on this beautiful planet. I really enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone and doing what pops up in my head. If i have a crazy idea i will most likely pursue it. And i always enjoy meeting people who come up with crazy things to do :D Lets adventure!
Life
At this time a cannot really tell you where I am going in life, but that's the exciting part about it. I usually don't plan ahead, one day at a time. The only planning I do though is to make sure to have enough veggies in the fridge and some backup chocolate. Things have always kind of fallen into place for me. Something have been good, other things haven't - but with hindsight there is always something to learn about it.
Cause no harm
Be honest
Do good.
Speak with your heart.
And have fun!
2 things guaranteed:
my socks never match, I will make you smile (im quite clumsy).
**Not a fan of sexism, racism, homophobia and violence.**
Currently I have the opportunity to host in our lovely flat in central Bonn. I live with 4 other amazing human beingsin a quite spacious flat. i do not have a couch or a spare room but i can give you my room :) I'd prefer to host people for a night, especially backpackers are welcome but don't hesitate to message me, I'm sure we'll figure something out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling the world, meeting new people and exploring new cultures are one of the best things you can no matter how old you are, it teaches you so much about the world but especially about yourself. Most people are scared. Scared to step out of their comfort zone or afraid to expose themselves to something unfamiliar. They are afraid of other nations and people who look different and this anxiety passes on to the next generation. I see Couchsurfing as an amazing opportunity to meet locals from different nationalities and exchange knowledge and ideas with them and make new friends worldwide! We should all be couchsurfers! :D
I am tired of people telling me i should be afraid of travelling alone as a girl and that sleeping on strangers couches is scary. It is not. It simply isn't. But it could be, and I don't encourage you (dear future host) to do anything that is inappropriate. I have been exposed to weird situations on Couchsurfing and I know how to defend myself.
Interests
I started longboarding some time ago, and I love it love it love it. You will find me outsides cruising in the streets of bonn whenever the weather allows me to do so.
Besides that I enjoy many sports, meeting my friends, cooking/baking!
I started DJing, I like arts and crafts and especially learning something new! What can u teach me, do you have an odd talent? (Plus points for u if u read so far and share a common interest in your request)
I just can't sit still. :)
I like to get to know people and listen to their stories. I like to listen and watch so I can learn and grow.
I’m really good at observing and picking up skills.
I can easily spend hours with doing something I love, but I couldn't waste a minute on something I don't enjoy doing.

Music, Movies, and Books
It always depends on my mood. Sometimes folk/indie makes me really happy. Sometimes I listen for electronic music for days, goa/trance while running and techno if I have to focus at work (lol this really works for me!)
I am a big fan of classical music too, opera, jazz and electro swing, rock.
Don’t ask me for names of artists, I’m really bad with it and can’t connect songs to bands or faces - if the singer of my favorite band would walk in front of me I probably would not realise!
Usually i enjoy tv shows more than movies and i have seen so many that it's pretty easy to get me involved in a conversation about it.
Dystopian books are my favourite. I also like reading books that refer to Greek mythology.
I like reading about rebellions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the fact that I had enough courage to fly to Canada right after my graduation without an actual plan what I'm going to do. Just a plane ticket and an address. I've met so many incredible people on my way and learned something new everyday. It's amazing how much luck I had during this trip and I'm grateful for everyone who helped me find my way, gave me work, food and a place to stay! Now that i am back home i hope to meet more awesome people in the future and host in Germany or wherever i might be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach German, share some culture and good recipes and I'm up to learning whatever you want to teach me.
I always have plenty of time and I'm happy to share that with you. Love to learn more about arts and crafts, videography, photography, acrobatics, acrobatics yoga, juggling, djing (wow the list goes on and on :))
I can teach how to solve rubriks cubes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories about my travels, nice vegan food recipes, European culture, but especially time - I have plenty of it.
