ABOUT ME

Ow, it's hard to write about yourself. This is the result of a quick survey of colleagues that share office space with me (I am currently at work): "He smokes." (Thanks - that's the first thing that comes to your mind? I am trying to stop that right now, though.) "He is curious about the world." (Uh, that's a deep one.) "He is funny." "He cares a lot about friends, family and world problems." (And is quite open re: his private life, I guess.) "He loves electronic music." (And dancing to it :)) - and then it was all "eh, mh, hm".

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have an open house. I like hosting people and so do my flatmates. Very often that's not through couchsurfing, but through friends of friends of friends. But still: It's participating in the broader mission of "redefining our homes as shared spaces".

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had my first - great - couch surfing experiences in Belgrade and Istanbul. Looking forward to more!

Civic activism, democratization from below, authoritarian regimes, modern art, reading and talking about what I read, electronic music of all sorts - and ah yes, clubbing!

Books: everything by Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Truman Capote and Dave Eggers. Still one of my favourites: "A heartbreaking work of staggering genius".
Music: check bln.fm or soundcloud.com/stadtlicht-podcast. That's what I am listening to most of the time when I'm writing.

Algo increíble que he hecho

The most recent ones: Protests in Madrid, 3D printers, a bunch of rich kids that talked about places as if they'd talk about trade marks.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Well... could teach a little origami (just two figures, but hey, enough for a night in a bar before everything is getting hazy), know quite a lot about civic activism and revolutions in Eastern Europe (and Africa soon), can explain how to film and cut.
I am always interested in the work of local political NGOs - so any information about that, the chance to visit one - that would be great!
