I'm never sure what to put in these.. I've had an interesting life, helped a number of people along the way. Found an amazing woman and married her, held her hand when she died in our living room 12 years later. Lost my purpose and went back to trying to help people, now found my family in Vietnam and working to contribute and possibly move there in time. I love to travel (obviously) but when I do it's much more about experiencing the way the people live than seeing the sites. Maybe even more so than trying new food 😅😅

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite aspect of traveling is to experience another culture as fully as possible. I feel this is hard to do when you lock yourself away in a hotel, tour tourist traps, and buy meals in those same areas. I love to be in the small back streets, talking to strangers and trying whatever they recommend to eat. Also I've always preferred to travel on a shoestring budget so I can travel more 😁

I'm largely self taught so I have a wide range of skills. A little basic chemistry and physics, some computer programming and database management, computer hardware (though this is probably out of date, I always used cheap components), welding (stick and mig), masonry, some cooking...
And I'm always interested in learning things I don't know yet, including new recipes 🤤
