About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience, Enjoy, do good, gain better perspective
ABOUT ME
I study Tai Chi & Yoga, later this year I'm going to be off to China to study Tai Chi (traveling by boat & train all the way!). There are many other things I wish to do and experience, but too much for me to type up now! but in a nutshell I'm going to travel out to China (taking about 4 months to get there)and I will hopefull settle in a place named YangShuo, where I will study Tai Chi & teach English to sustain my time away
I'm a big frisbee fan (prefer freestyle to ultimate or frisbee golf).
Ok my journeys have begun, time for the update..
My plans to go to China have been interupted by the Olympics, I have been told that October is the time to try and get the Visa I want, so I now have an extar few months to travel and explore Europe.
I'm an easy going guy, I like to have fun
I adopt to my suroundings, so if it's clean I keep it clean, if the toilet seat is down, then I leave it down.
I really want to get to know the people I stay with through couchsurfing (and those who come to stay with me), but I understand it can be hard to be a host sometimes, so I'm also very good at keeping myself entertained or out of the way. I am happy exploring new places either by myself or with others
I like to have fun (probably a bit too much!) but I am a level headed (sensible) honest person, I am very friendly & accomodating
Sometimes I can be quiet, other times very talkative, I guess it depends upon who I am with!!
Update 2 - ok, I've been back in England for a while, saving up again to resume my original intended journey. But now I'm available to host again to people who visit london
PHILOSOPHY
I'll come back to this one day when I have more time - work in progress
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still newish to this site, but I'm mighty impressed by the concept & ethos on which it operates.
I will primarily contribute by offering my couch, but I'm also happy to just meet people & show them around my local area should they want an insider's perspective of Exeter & Devon. When I have more time I will find out about other ways I may be able to contribute.
update - I now live in London, I will be available to host, but unable to show people around due to the nature of my job!
I'm looking to make a friend in Moscow who may be able to accomodate me & help me out with a ticket booking (for the Trans-Siberian train), I'd be hugely grateful, and would compensate accordingly (it's so much cheaper to book in person then in travel agents)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Recently hosted my first couple of Surfers, Sara & Marion, nice girls, met them through CS last minute when their other plans fell through - it was a very brief encounter as they arrived quite late and I had to get off to work the following day by mid-morning, but it was really good to meet them both, find out abit about their home towns and have a bit of a chat!
three days with Anna & Kristina in Hamburg (my first hosts!)
Max in Hamburg for one week
Christine for one night in Berlin
Christina for another night in Berlin
Ollie for three nights in Berlin
Jurgen in Munich for three nights
That's all so far...
But I have met many couch surfers in Exeter on nights out, and I have met others whilst staying with hosts in Hamburg & Berlin

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll come back to this one day when I have more time
Music I have very ecclectic tastes. it's easier to say that I don't like Enlgish Pop, RnB, Soul, Jazz & rap, all other Genres I indulge in. My main loyalties lie with Rock, Reggae, world & classical, but I tend to go through phases listening to one type, then another...world musics have had a big influence on my tastes, but I guess that's still kinda vague....
Films: City of God, Shawshank Redemption, The Edukators, Drowning by Numbers, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, The Princess Bride (these last three are classics), er crickey, too many films to name!
Ok, books: Candide by Voltaire, Across the Nightingale floor by Lian Hearn, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by the late Douglas Adams, Journey to the centre of the Earth by Jules Verne, The Dictionary by Oxford
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen a rainbow halo around the sun (a complete circle) very cool.
A whole town glowing red in the morning sunrise (high up in the mountains - by Monte Rose in Italy).
A slow motion crash (ok it was painful, but it is quite amazing the way the mind can work in extreme circumstances).
The bottom of an airplane as you're falling out of it (skydiving).
24 hour sun, 300km north of the Arctic Circle
A huge Coral reef turning from Tuquoise to orange/red when you touch one tiny part of it - the whole area beneath you completely transformed - that was cool (Scuba diving in the cook islands).
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn as much as possible in my time, I am open to most subjects, so if there's something you would like to teach, I'd like to learn!
I will happily (attempt to) teach: Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Freestyle Frisbee & Cooking.
And I will happily give any friend a massage, as one day I will be a healer of some description (as long as they're clean - and nothing dodgy! & I've been told I give a good massage)
While I'm away, I want to get good at hacky-sack (footbag) so anyone who does this, please let me know!
I also really want to try Capoera (the brazilian dance/martial art)
