About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Care for plants, planet and people. Seeking to build positive relationships and do good wherever and whenever I can. Create the next phase in my life to be better than the last, staying healthy and creative. Dance with everyone!

ABOUT ME

Four years ago in the midst of Covid-19, I moved from the city to upstate New York, in the beautiful western Catskills. It's been a very long time since I have been active in Couchsurfing, and I miss it. I'm a world traveler and it feels weird to not have traveled outside of the US in years since the pandemic. In addition to traveling, I love to cook, eat, dance, laugh, be creative, travel, and explore nature. I'm an art and music lover, skill collector, and maker. I am easy going, and appreciate sharing stories and great conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

We are pure energy in flesh form, powerful yet vulnerable, connected to every other thing in the world. We can chose to live in joy, peace and laughter, or in misery and mediocrity.
The most beautiful and fascinating thing to me about life is the ability to create change at any given moment at the snap of the fingers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's been quite a long time since I have been active here, and I'm interested in seeing how the CS community has changed, especially with the shifts in technology. Last time I couchsurfed internationally, I traveled without a cell phone and there was only FB for social media and folks were not yet addicted or controlled by their phones (yeah, I'm making myself sound really old! But there was time folks!)

I've had so many wonderful experiences as host and guest, and look forward to rejoining the community. To me it's all about relationships, and connection. I'm thrilled CS has lasted for this long! I consider myself an OG CSer even though I've been inactive for some time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Throughout my many travels, I have been blessed enough to be invited to many a couch, cot, bed, floor, rooftop, blanket, you name it I can sleep on it. I have also offered my own home to many a traveler. To me, this is the only way to truly appreciate a place and to know its people, to see where and how they live.

Interests

Learning and teaching, growing plants and Permaculture; plant medicine and spirits; happy music and dancing til you sweat; preparing food with care and eating with gusto; discovering something new; creating beauty; good conversation and company; story swapping; living fully and authentically; exploring nature and breathing fresh air: cool rivers, pure drinking water, clean surfing waves, the underwater world, the view from the top of a mountain peak, a sweaty jungle and shadowy forests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, especially jazz, soul, house, lounge, world beats, old school hip hop. One of my favorite artists is Prince.

I love independent film, documentary and foreign movies.

I'm a fan of historical fiction and anything that is well written. I love to read about the natural world. I've become a huge audiobook listener lately and have explored all kinds of genres I usually don't read and I'm loving it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking a puma in the jungle of Bolivia.
Meeting and communicating with plant spirits in the Amazon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and exchange recipes. I can share my knowledge about healing plants and how to live peacefully in the jungle. I've been building gardens and can share tips on how to grow food, how to manage compost, build basic structures. My motto is: "Use the right tool"
I love to dance and can do it anywhere at the drop of a dime. I've been taking pottery classes and am a bit obsessed with the wheel. I'm super crafty and love making all kinds of things by hand.
