ABOUT ME

I am interested in people and what motivates them. I'm looking for a job (for now, any job) in Oakland or San Francisco while I figure out if/when I want to go to grad school for Social Work to become a counselor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still surfing couches for now until I find a more permanent couch to perhaps rent while I look for full time work in the next few months. I can't wait until I can afford my own place where I can host surfers here in the East Bay, but that may not be until the spring.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed quite a few times so far in my travels around the US, Europe and various parts of Asia. I'm excited to be moving to the Bay Area, which will afford more opportunities for hosting once I'm settled down here.

Interests

I am interested in people and what their lives are like in different places. I love meeting and talking to new and different people. I sing and play the trombone when I get the chance. I also like running, biking and many sports. I go camping whenever I can, and love to explore new places, whether close to home or far away.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music, live music especially. One of my priorities as I move to Oakland is to find a place to live where I can practice my trombone - I've been too long away from it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked 1300 miles from Wisconsin to New Orleans, Louisiana from October-November 2007, mostly alone. It was hard, but one of the best experiences of my life so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can fix bikes pretty well - I've worked as a salesman/mechanic in two different bike shops for four or five years all together. Ask me if you want to learn or need to know something.
I can teach a little bit of singing, as well. I am very interested in learning about counseling and possibly becoming a counselor. I want to learn how to fix cars and scooters.
