About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live life like we really mean it. ( my husband,Robert and myself)
ABOUT ME
I come from a long line of grain farmers and cattle ranchers. My uncle was one of the best horse traders in western Canada. With my roots deep in the land, I have the confidence to strike out in the world. I was blessed with the gift of gab and can get along with anyone.
At this time I am a full time artist having just sold our art gallery which we built, babied and nurtured to maturity. After 11 years in the business of selling art I am ready to see the other side (a dream I have carried for a lifetime) Our other life long dream is to travel. We are in the process of selling everything loading up our 1986 VW 4x4 van and traveling the Pan-American highway to Argentina.
Right now our home is open to any travelers need a place or a back door tour of the real Alberta.
Most exciting.... we are about to become grandparents.
PHILOSOPHY
I think you reach a point in your life when you really can embrace the philosophy of "it's now or never" you believe it like you believe in breathing.
It's like the saying " on your deathbed you won't be wishing you spent more time at the office"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Our door is open! We encourage guests pretty much anytime. Our life style is very laid back and someone is always around the homestead. So far this year we have hosted guests from 3 different continents. Have 3 young folks from New Zealand that use us as home base. Point to be made... we just found out about couch surfing but have been doing this informally for a long time. We are so grateful to belong to this massive network and welcome new guests, experiences and the opportunity to share our homeland. ( every time we host a traveler we come out with a greater appreciation for this amazing environment we live in)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing formal, but have always had folks through our door. We put up quite a few traveling artists. Love that!
Interests
Things that really excite us.... traveling, meeting new friends, hiking, good food, great wine, foreign films, art, photography, unknown writers of genius quality, music, yes, how can I forget that universal language.... music!
