An English boy brought up on the salt-sea air of Morecambe Bay. University took me to the wonderful city of Bristol, where I now live and work following a brief spell in Manchester.

At university I studied English Literature which has impassioned a real love of reading and learning. I am in particular a huge fan of Cormac McCarthy, Jayne-Anne Phillips, Tim O'brien, John Williams and American Literature on the whole.

As well as novels, a brief spell in the magazine industry has brought about a keen interest in independent magazines such as Cereal, Boat and Popshot which are all brilliant publications made by talented creatives.

I try to find time to write myself and have a blog that I don't update as nearly often as I would like (www.realmsandspheres.com).

I also like to keep fit, playing lots of sport including squash, badminton and football.

Photography is a current interest I'm trying to get into.

I've always been fairly computer literate and fell into an SEO role which currently pays the bills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first became aware of Couchsurfing whilst living in Bristol as a student. A housemate of mine had an account and we had lots of visitors from all over Europe that were always great to meet and have a good time with.

Since then I travelled to Australia and New Zealand and made use of Couchsurfing myself while out there.

I can sometimes host people myself and will continue to use Couchsurfing when travelling.
