About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To write a book that you will love.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy life and learning as much as I can. I enjoy my independent life as I travel, merge with the wilderness, meet new people, and try to give my dogs all of the love and adventure they deserve as well.

I retired from a career in mental health care and rehabilitation case planning. Now I breed and train dogs for families and hunters. I have a passion for the wilderness, learning, and fiction writing.

I'm a published writer of sword and sorcery novels that feature mythological creatures from cultures around the world. If you can tell me about the demons and little people of your culture, stories from your grandmother, or anything that crawled out of the night-time darkness in your childhood, I will grovel at your feet and buy all the drinks until you exhaust yourself.

I hope for the world and pray that everyone will find the best in themselves and live in peace with the planet. I'm loyal and honest, calm and understanding, too serious at times but have a silly side. Everything I have is only borrowed for the time that I'm here and if you need it, just ask.

PHILOSOPHY

Love is the answer. We're all here to learn that in one form or another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting travelers. I can host, guide, and ride-share when I'm on the road as I have an RV. I enjoy frequent short trips. When I finish a project (novel) I'm working on, I will travel around the Middle East and hope to meet many new and old friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a CSer who turned me onto this place. She inspired me and renewed my faith in people. It's encouraging to find people helping each other to enjoy travel and adventure. The world needs more of this!

I have traveled with others and hosted at my home. It is always more rewarding to me than I feel I'm rewarding others. I hope the feeling is mutual.

Interests

People, animals.... No. Animals, then people. The usual: Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Art, Music, Travel, History, Anthropology, Stars, Anthills, Racoon eyes in campfire light.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dances with Wolves, Groundhog Day, Where the Heart Is, What Dreams May Come, Lord of the Rings, Groundhog Day, Made in Heaven, Camelot, Scrooge, It's a Wondeful Life, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Vertigo, and, oh Yeah, Groundhog Day.

What music I listen to depends on my mood. I need to broaden out in music so if you have something new I'd love to listen. Cultural or ethnic music is always appreciated.

I love books and old stories, especially fairy tales from cultures around the world. Also, this is an area when I would be happy if you show me something you really love. Oh, of course, my favorite book of all is "The Little Prince." My favorite authors are Ursela K. LeGuin and Hans Christian Andersen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kindness is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
The most amazing thing I've ever done? I'm working on that!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know much but I can guess whenever it might help. Most of my experience has been working with people or dogs. I'm not an expert in either. Who is?
