About Me

ABOUT ME

Woody is an easy-going guy who is always down for an adventure. His friends and family mean more than anything to him. Without them he wouldn't be who he is today. Travel and wandering are what runs through his head daily.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I'm accepting guests to my house where I live just outside of downtown Seattle. I haven't done much hosting but I'm all in for the idea of it! I'm currently a tour guide in Seattle so I can show you around when I get some free time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had some amazing experiences Couchsurfing and can't say enough about them. One thing I enjoy whenever seeking a host is someone who is straight forward. No beating around the bush on times to meet, when the host is available, etc. Communication is key with anything in life. My favorite couchsurfing experience took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. My host was a now good friend of mine named Rok. We had a fantastic weekend together. Extremely like-minded and the same age. What really got me was his introduction of handball to me. Had no idea that sport existed till about 2 years ago. He was on a team and had brought me to multiple matches and later introduced me to all the members. Such a cool sport to watch with a great group of guys. Everything seemed to come together that weekend. I'm not sure if it was the more rural setting, plus the great people, and newly interesting sport but I can safely say that has been my favorite time surfing so far.

Interests

I have a passion for sports and staying active. I grew up playing all sorts from golf to basketball and have now transferred those things into my daily activities. I currently reside in the Northwest (Washington State) part of the United States where I try to hike and tailor my daily activities to the outdoors as much as possible. Along with my time spent outdoors I love doing things that are completely new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that definitely sticks out in my mind is my time in the Whitsunday Islands of Australia. It was a 4 day sailing trip through various islands and after setting foot on my first island I was speechless. With no humans on the island and only the few I was sailing with around, it left for one of the most beautiful and overwhelming sights I've seen. Another point in my life where I was left awestruck was in Queenstown, New Zealand. It was the moment I stuck my head out the plane door 13,000 ft high. Shortly afterwards I started my plummet towards earth as I was strapped to another mans chest skydiving for the first time. The miles and miles of gorgeous mountains throughout the south island of New Zealand left for a memory I will cherish forever.
