About Me
Hello !
I'm Anis, born and raised in Paris, France. I came to the USA (Washington DC) for a 1,5 year mission with an IT company, and stayed since then. I've been enjoying my time here a lot, and I'm sure I'll continue to.
I enjoy working out to get to eat as much food as I can (running, swimming, biking).
I often volunteer when I get the chance (DC Environemental Film Festival, FilmFest DC, AFI DOCS Film Festival), and I ended up working every Tuesday at a Bike Coop (Mount Rainier Bike Coop). It's where I got the bike from the "One Amazing Thing I've" Done section.
Some others things that define me : I love appreciating the moment, whether it's a meal or a moment in a Museum, just closing my eyes and realizing how lucky I am to be here in this instant, free of any problems, and happy. It could be the reason why I'm into volunteering, because somewhere I feel like I need to give back some of that happiness to others.
Hope to talk to you soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel as much as I can during my stay in the US. I have also realized that the best encounters I've made here are through other travellers.
I want to experience life from other perspectives and try to add something positive in peoples' lives.

Music, Movies, and Books
My go-to genres are Jazz and Electronic music (and subgenres), I usually try to stay open to anything.
Book-wise, I'm a big fan of Detective stories. Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Maurice Leblanc, and recently Michael Connelly.
If we're talking about movies, there's no specific genre I enjoy more than others.
Some movies I loved : Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Old Boy, Intouchables, Citizen Kane, The Big Lebowski, La Tour Montparnasse Infernale.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got my bike stolen when I was volunteering in DC. You'd expect the amazing thing to be that I got back, right ?
I did not. 12 days after losing my dear bikey, I built my own bike at a bike coop. I went back there many times to help out ever since.
I also have other fun or scary stories to share !
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach : Mathematics (I used to teach a bit), French, how to make crêpes
Learn : Cooking/Baking, Dancing, something I didn't know I wanted to learn
Share : Interesting stories, Open mind & Positiveness !
What I Can Share with Hosts
A meal, a drink, stories, knowledge (when I have it).
I realize you honor me by letting me stay in your own house, so I'll try to return the favor !
