Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Learning to live from day to day, moment to moment, making the most of each.
ABOUT ME
I have been a teacher all my life, in Waldorf schools, for children with varying challenges, from severe to none at all. My life has included many, many adventures, and I have learned that the right people, things and money are there when they are needed. I take things seriously, yet find humor just about everywhere. I am an introvert but can connect with most folks--I take people, places and things as they come and as they are. I have been married to Maria for 30 years now, and children Katie and John are just launching out into their lives--all three of them are amazing people. I practice gratitude and living every moment anew.
PHILOSOPHY
Consider myself a co-creator of this universe. My freedom is boundless, but only as long as I recognize and honor the higher powers that granted it. If I work with them, all is possible. If I work against them, my life quickly narrows down into its own closed, unfruitful circuit. This process happens from day to day, moment to moment--wakefulness and readiness is all.
Interessen
I love to read and do a good deal of writing. I love music, song, dance, and do a good deal of all three. I love to travel, in all worlds. I strive to get to know the people who cross my path, their customs, stories, food--I never met a dish I didn't like, with one exception. I am not into electronica, have no cell phone or TV, have never played video games, but do use the web for contact and research--it's great in its place. I follow weather avidly, love to read history and biography. I love to cook--it relaxes me--and explore spices and ingredients from other lands--have been seriously into Mexican and Indian the last few years. Am also a cheesemaker and bread baker.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Watching "West Wing" and "Mentalist" on DVD. Reading Bill Bryson, about Abraham Lincoln and studying Hindu Myths. Singing a Lenten Concert with a chorus: Schuetz, Mendelsohn, Lauridson, et al. Classical music is the best--Bach is my main man--but I enjoy blues, jazz, folk, music of other cultures
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Hiking high up in great mountains--the Alps or Banff National Park--is a high like no other.
Walking the streets of a great city--New York, Chicago, Amsterdam, Florence, where people and buildings and atmosphere all breath the same energy and sensibility.
Live concerts where all voices blend as one, or a symphony plays with heart and soul, not just technique.
