About Me

CURRENT MISSION

meet people, take pictures, go to africa

ABOUT ME

Besides love, the most compelling things are philosophy, travel, photography, fiction, art, and beer... roughly in that order. I relish adventure, conversation, new languages, and physically exerting activities that have a relatively low probability of resulting in death. Pretty typical pisces/INFP, if you're into that kinda descriptive circumvention.

PHILOSOPHY

Inspiration, hard work, and happiness.

The search for meaning is the meaning itself.

The most important truth lies in the individual. The only real or important knowledge comes from accessing the individual. And this knowledge is not really knowledge at all. It is merely understanding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I meet people and explore. When I get a couch of my own, I would like to make it available to others. If ever I'm in Portland, OR again, I will have a couch, and if not, I can definitely show you around.

Music, Movies, and Books

It should be either provocative or funny. As a few examples: the Big Lebowski, Naked Lunch, Philip Glass

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once beat a grizzled old Mexican PRI-sta in an unannounced match of "Eat the Spiciest Pepper." He looked at me with tears welling up in his eyes and retorted, "¿Tu eres más Mexicano que yo?" And I just smiled.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, even though I'm a little rusty. I also studied philosophy and can make it pretty interesting to an engaged listener. I know a handy amount about poetry, art, and photography.

I mostly want to learn. I love learning new languages. I also want to learn to create better photography and better art. And if you know anything about Africa or development work, I'm interested in that, too.

I can share my stories, my enthusiasm, my pictures, my knowledge, and I can certainly buy you a beer.

Countries I’ve Visited
